For the third time a monumental sculpture by Breuer-Weil was exhibited as part of Sotheby’s 2013 Beyond Limits exhibition held annually at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire.
Alien is five times the size of the average person and is executed in the loose sculptural style that is the hallmark of Breuer-Weil’s monumental pieces. The surface of Alien will also be familiar to anyone who has seen Breuer-Weil’s work in recent years as it is marked all over with his graffiti musings and doodling.
Set in the magnificent grounds of Chatsworth, the ancestral seat of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and one of Europe’s greatest stately homes, Beyond Limits is now firmly established as one of the most exciting selling exhibitions of outdoor sculpture and a key event in the art world calendar.
Under the curatorship of Sotheby’s specialists, the exhibition has become known for its dynamic selection of monumental works by international Modern and Contemporary artists.
