Breuer-Weil’s monumental 21-foot-tall bronze sculpture Flight has been installed as a long-term installation in Portman Square, Central London, one of the most prominent locations in the West End.

Flight is one of Breuer-Weil’s most iconic works, representing a mind teasing paradox: the figure soars into the sky, only able to do so as a result of the supporting straps, umbilically connecting it to the earth.

The artist developed this motif over several years, including in small and middle-scale bronzes, exploring differences in scale and orientation.

Flight joins Brothers and Brothers II as one of three major Breuer-Weil sculptures in Portman Square, the most significant single artist sculpture garden in Central London. Portman Square is a private square, but all the sculptures are visible from the street.
